Packing Tips

What should I pack for for the trip?
Most of our events are outdoors. We’re hoping for great weather, but it can get breezy by the ocean, so please bring a shawl or light layer. Our wedding is on the beach, and the reception will be on grass, so for the ladies, wedges or block heels (not stilettos!) are a great idea.

Let us know if you need any advice on what to wear for each of the events. For those asking, the only colour off limits is white/ivory on the wedding day (26 May), as it’s the colour for the bride-to-be!

What is the currency in Mauritius, and can I use credit cards?
The currency is the Mauritian Rupee (MUR). Credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and larger shops, but it’s a good idea to have some cash for small purchases and tips. You can exchange your currency upon arrival at the airport or at exchange bureaus which are common in tourist areas.

What type of plug do I need?
The most common plug is a type G (same as the UK), with three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern. Mauritius operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.
